Intellectual Property, Copyright and Photographic Collections

Wednesday, December 1, 2021 - 14:00 to 15:00

Online

Understanding the Intellectual Property rights, restrictions, and copyrights in relation to photographic collections can be a bit of a minefield. To help you navigate we are running a virtual event with Emma Richards from the government's Intellectual Property Office, on Wednesday 1 December, 2pm via Zoom.
The talk will cover important things you need to know in relation to working with archive images; how you can use them, how to find out who owns the copyright to items in your collection, how to safely use Orphaned Works, and more.

Emma's knowledge of IP is very broad, so to help you make the most of this session we would like you to submit any questions for the event beforehand via this form: https://forms.gle/u9fRm19r2TSBDDdH9 Please note that Emma will not be able to answer questions on specific legal disputes, and we cannot guarantee to be able to answer all questions. However, if you do send your questions ahead of the event we can research these to give you the best possible answers.
Booking is free, with the option of a donation to support PCN's work. You will receive a confirmation email when you book, and the event link will be sent to you on the day of the event. Emma Richards has requested emails of everyone attending so that she can send additional information to attendees, if this is a problem please let Debbie know on the email below.

If you have any questions about the event please send them to debbie@photocollections.org.uk
