Wilson Centre for Photography, London (accessible by Tube).
Join us for an afternoon visit to the Wilson Centre for Photography, a private archive and collection for research on the history, aesthetics and preservation of photographs. The collection began in 1978, and now includes comprehensive holdings of nineteenth-century photographs and albums with a strong representation of major twentieth-century practitioners. Contemporary material is an expanding area of acquisition.
Wilson Centre has an active programme of education, publication, and exhibition loans, including collaborations with public museums and galleries. The Centre also sponsors and commissions projects, and in partnership with other organizations has established bursary programmes to support emerging and mid-career photographic artists.
This event is aimed specifically at photographic collection and archive professionals. Tickets are £10 per person and are for members of the Photographic Collections Network only. Numbers are strictly limited.
Please note that bookings will close at 09:00 on Tuesday, 27 February 2018, and those with confirmed bookings will be notified of the exact location (in London) shortly after that.
